EMDR Intensive Therapy

A focused path to deep healing and lasting change.

Why Choose Intensives

✦

Deeper Progress, Sooner

Extended, focused time allows you to work through memories more fully, often achieving in days what weekly sessions reach over months.

❋

Uninterrupted Focus

Without the stop-start rhythm of weekly appointments, you can stay with the process and build momentum in a safe, supported space.

❀

Tailored to You

Each intensive is shaped around your goals, pace and needs, offering a gentle, personalised path toward healing.

People choose EMDR Intensives for many reasons, including:

• Feeling stuck or frustrated with the pace of weekly therapy
• Wanting focused, uninterrupted time for therapeutic work
• Limited availability due to work, travel, or caregiving
• A preference for structured, time-limited support

An intensive offers a different way of engaging in therapy. One that prioritises focus, continuity, and support.

Who Are EMDR Intensives For?

EMDR Intensives may be suitable for people who:

  • Have a clear issue or goal they would like to focus on
  • Are seeking a structured and supported therapy approach
  • Can commit to focused therapeutic work over a short period
  • Prefer continuity rather than weekly sessions

When an EMDR Intensive May Not Be the Right Fit

They may not be recommended if you are:

  • Currently in crisis or experiencing acute instability
  • Needing a slower or more gradual therapeutic pace
  • Requiring frequent ongoing support

Suitability is always explored carefully before booking.

What Does an EMDR Intensive Involve?

Watercolor painting of a soft, abstract swirl. Subtle pastel hues create a calming and artistic texture on a cream background.
Digital abstract art of translucent flowing wavy lines. The design features a calm, ethereal palette of soft blue, mint, and lavender tones.

PHASE 02

Intensive Processing

During extended, focused sessions, bilateral stimulation helps your brain reprocess difficult memories at a pace that feels manageable, allowing deep work to unfold without the interruption of weekly gaps.

PHASE 01

Preparation & History

We begin by getting to know you, your story and your goals. Together we identify the memories to focus on and build grounding resources so you feel safe and supported before processing begins.

Watercolor painting of misty rolling mountains. The soft pastel color palette evokes a calm, dreamlike atmosphere.

PHASE 03

Integration & Closure

We close each intensive with calming techniques and reflection, helping you integrate what has shifted and leave with practical tools to carry a renewed sense of ease into daily life.

Medicare rebates may apply to eligible Mental Health Care Plans. Follow-up sessions are not included in the intensive packages. A follow-up session can be booked one month after your intensive; the fee is $280, with a Medicare rebate of $101.55 available for eligible Mental Health Care Plans.

What can an EMDR Intensive help with?

EMDR is a well-researched therapy for PTSD and trauma. It is also used for distressing memories, grief and loss, medical trauma, and patterns that grow out of hard early experiences. We will talk about whether it fits what you are dealing with in your initial session.

How is an EMDR Intensive different from weekly therapy?

An intensive involves longer sessions delivered closer together, allowing for continuity and focus. Weekly therapy is spaced over time. Both are valid approaches.

Will an EMDR Intensive fix everything?

No therapy can guarantee outcomes. An EMDR Intensive offers focused support, but healing continues through integration and daily life.

How do I know if I’m suitable?

Suitability is explored during a 50-minute initial session ($250), where we look at your goals, current supports, and readiness for this format. If an intensive is a good fit, you can book any of the intensive options straight after.

If EMDR is not the right fit yet, that is okay. We want to support safety and meet your nervous system where it is. You may still have the option of a full-day therapy intensive shaped around what you need, such as parts work, schema therapy, grounding, or ACT. Otherwise, options or referrals will be provided to help you find the right fit.

What happens after the intensive?

After the intensive, we focus on integration and next steps. This may include referrals, recommendations, or future intensive work if appropriate.

How does payment work?

At the time of booking, a $200 deposit is required. The total fee is then split into four equal instalments of 25%, spread from the time you book until four weeks before your intensive. This secures your place and spreads the cost while giving us time to prepare everything for you.

Are Medicare rebates available?

Yes. Medicare rebates of $101.55 are available if you have a current Mental Health Care Plan. A rebate will be provided for each session you attend. Some private health funds may cover part of the cost, so please check with your insurer before booking your initial call.

Is the $200 deposit refundable?

The $200 deposit is not refundable.
